I have lots of awesome news to share!

First, I have officially taken on the roll of Canadian Quilters Association Manitoba Regional Representative. I will be connecting with Quilters, Guilds & Shop owners as soon as I get my act together. I am hoping to offer regularly scheduled ZOOM meet-ups for our Manitoba members once fall rolls around. Stay tuned!

Next, If you have not already heard Kim Caskey (Edmonton) and I created an awesome new FaceBook Group called “Canadian Quilt Guild Network” our membership is rapidly growing and we can’t be more excited. We are the admins of this group and I can tell you, we have some exciting plans for the direction of it! Now that we have an established member base, we will begin regular posts of important information. Getting the word out to guild members across Canada – of the changes to guild functions (thanks to COVID), will be more important than ever. The most current version of the Speaker/Presenter resource list is constantly being updated and we invite you to scroll through some posts for introductions and samples of these CANADIAN works.

What a fabulous opportunity this virtual world has provided us!

Finally, and the reason I am stuck in my studio recreating my webpage and polishing up the new virtual workshops I will be offering soon. It is a thrill to announce that I am over the moon excited to announce that I will be part of the September 9, 2020 (4-6pm EST) meet the teacher event!

“GLOBAL QUILT CONNECTION: a virtual meet the teachers event”

Come meet Quilt Teachers from across the globe (AND ME) who are ready and able to present lectures and classes live-online.
This is the perfect opportunity to meet potential instructors for your guild that have been unaccessible due to travel restrictions and/or costs. Global Quilt Connection was founded by Sue Bleiweiss and Lyric Kinard as a response to not being able to offer live in person teaching events due to the current pandemic situation. We recognized that guilds across the country are beginning to embrace virtual live online classes and lectures as a way to keep their membership engaged during this time of social distancing and so we started the GQC to help connect quilt teachers who are ready to offer live online teaching to guilds from around the world. It’s exciting to help guilds connect with instructors who previously might have been economically out of their reach due to the cost of travel, etc.
